The Alcove Centre for Arts
Logo Design & Branding
During my time with the Alcove Team, I took on the responsibility of crafting logo and branding concepts. This organization is dedicated to fostering grassroots community art, with a core message centred around diversity and making art accessible to all communities.
Logo Development
The design for the Alcove logo took many iterations. The Alcove team knew that they wanted to use purple as well as an earth tone palette, and wanted to establish a welcoming and warm feel.
With these specs, I wanted to use rounder shapes and limit the use of sharp edges, imitating the shape of an actual alcove.
First Iteration of the Alcove Logo, certain shapes are established at this point, but the concept for the "A" and orientation of the letters need fine tuning.
The concept for the Alcove logo starts to take shape in this second iteration. The concept for the Alcove "A" is established and just needs further tweaking.
Final Design
The final design was realized by smoothing out the Alcove A, adding some gradient accents, and adding a flattened staircase which draws viewers in and establishes a sense of intrigue.
Sponsorship Proposal Document
I worked alongside the founder of Alcove to put together a sponsorship proposal package, that aligned with the Alcove branding concepts. Each page of this document is different, however, the same inviting and friendly theme is maintained throughout using thoughtfully procured graphics and on-point photos that encapsulate the Alcove vision.
